Micro hexagon half nuts to Din 439B are standard nuts but have a reduced height in comparrison to the hexagon full nut.  Micro half nuts are also known as  'lock' nuts and are commonly used with any male fastener with the same thread diameter and pitch, used to mate a stack or single part together.

Micro hexagon half nuts can be installed or removed using standard spanners or socket tools.

It is important when using hexagon full nuts or any other form of nut that the tensile strength of the nut should not be more than that of the bolt or mating component as this could cause the threads to 'strip'.

Micro hexagon half nuts are available from stock in steel grade 8, A2 stainless steel, A4 stainless steel and brass.  Other materials are available upon request including aluminium and titanium.

Micro hex half nuts range from M2 to M3 but larger diameters are also available from stock in various materials.
