Micro Nylon Insert Nuts Din 985 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
AboutMicro nylon insert nuts to Din 985 also known as nylon insert nuts, are similar to hexagon full nuts but have a collar containing a nylon insert. This nylon insert thus reduces the internal diameter at the top (collar) of the nut. When a mating stud / screw is inserted into the nut the nylon deforms over the threads of the stud / screw but this does not cut into the nylon. The nylon insert nut has two locking actions, it forces the creates friction by pressing the bottom face of the threads against the top face of the threads, it also applies substantial force against the screw itself. Due to the locking feature of the nut been a nylon material it is only advised to be used in temperatures of upto 121 deg C (250F).
