Duplex Stainless Steel Hexagon Nuts are often used in chemical processing, petrochemicals, the power industry and seawater equipment.
It hosts adequate corrosion and cracking resistance, which aids in the nuts used in applications that may see increased corrosion such as marine use. It also hosts double the strength than similar nuts made from 316 stainless steel.
These hex nuts are strong in applications that make fasteners prone to stress corrosion cracking, crevice corrosion, pitting and erosion.
Most commonly, these nuts are made from either Duplex 2205 or Super Duplex 2207. 2205 is the most popular grade for products like a hexagon nut. This alloy becomes embrittled between temperatures of 300ºC – 1000ºC and is recommended for use in temperatures of -50ºC to 300ºC.
They are also available in self-locking form.
