Duplex is a stainless and acid resistant steel alloy that is characterised by an austenitic-ferritic two-phase structure, which combines the positive properties of both.
Compared to other partially threaded hex head screws, those made of duplex hold high strength comparable to higher-strength structural steels.
Apposed to pure austenitic steels, Duplex has a high chromium content and low nickel content – making it more stable compared to products containing high levels of nickel.
These screws hold high tensile strength, at a minimum of 800 MPa, as well as holding higher corrosion resistance than AISI 316L at a comparable price level to it.
Often found in marine and offshore technology, as well as the construction and chemical industry.
