What are security nuts?

Security nuts are specialist nuts designed to make unauthorised removal more difficult than with conventional nuts. They are typically used with bolts, screws or studs with a matching machine thread, providing a tamper-resistant fastening solution where the fastener needs to be protected from interference.

Different security nut designs use different head or drive configurations to restrict access and provide the level of security required for the application.
