Micro profile head screws are also known within the industry as low profile head screws, slim head screws, space saving bolts, thin head screws and ultra-low head cap screws.

Low profile and ultra-low profile head screws are used when headspace is limited or very limited. Their head height is about half, or one-third of a standard socket head, and they are not recommended for high strength fastening.
