Selecting the Right Nut

The nut should be selected to match the mating thread and the requirements of the application. Depending on the assembly, important considerations can include thread diameter and pitch, thread direction, material, locking requirements, environmental conditions and available installation space.

Where vibration or movement could cause a conventional threaded connection to loosen, self-locking nuts provide an integrated locking feature to help maintain the joint.

Fine, extra-fine and left-hand thread options are also available for applications where a standard right-hand coarse thread is not suitable.
