Stainless Steel Nuts

Stainless steel nuts are commonly used for outdoor and exposed environments where corrosion resistance is required. Used across industrial and commercial applications, they provide an alternative to carbon steel nuts and are suitable for both static and vibration-prone assemblies.

Fastenright supplies a wide range of stainless steel nuts in standard and self-locking designs, with non-standard and made-to-drawing options available for specialist applications.

What types of stainless steel nuts are available?

We supply a wide selection of stainless steel nut types, including:

  • Full nuts and half nuts
  • Stainless steel lock nuts and stainless steel locking nuts
  • Nyloc nuts and all-metal self-locking nuts
  • Stainless steel wing nuts
  • Stainless steel square nuts
  • Stainless steel rivet nuts
  • Stainless steel barrel nuts

Our range includes both standard fastening nuts and specialist products such as stainless steel barrel nuts.

Both standard and self-locking designs are available for applications subject to vibration.

Standard nuts are commonly used in static assemblies, while self-locking designs are selected where vibration resistance is required to help maintain fastening security.

What grades of stainless steel nuts are supplied?

Most stainless steel nuts are supplied in A2 stainless steel and A4 stainless steel. Additional stainless grades including A5 stainless steel and A8 (1.4529) HCR stainless steel are also available for applications requiring enhanced corrosion resistance.

These grades provide differing levels of corrosion resistance, allowing the fastening to be selected according to the operating environment.

  • A2 stainless steel nuts – Commonly specified for general corrosion-resistant applications
  • A4 stainless steel nuts – Commonly selected for marine and coastal environments where increased corrosion resistance may be required
  • A5 stainless steel nuts – Available for specialist applications requiring enhanced corrosion resistance
  • A8 (1.4529) HCR stainless steel nuts – Available for highly corrosive environments where superior corrosion resistance is required

Other grades and exotic alloys, including Duplex, Super Duplex, and Inconel, are available on request for specialist requirements.

What sizes of stainless steel nuts can Fastenright supply?

Stainless steel nuts are available in a wide range of metric sizes, including:

  • M6 stainless steel nuts
  • M8 stainless steel nuts
  • M10 stainless steel nuts
  • M12 stainless steel nuts

Selecting the correct nut type, grade, and size helps ensure suitable performance for the intended application and operating environment.

Can non-standard stainless steel nuts be supplied?

Alongside standard stock products, non-standard and made-to-drawing stainless steel nuts are available to order.

Specialist designs can be manufactured to specification, subject to minimum order quantities, making them suitable for applications requiring non-standard dimensions or material requirements.

Fastenright supplies both standard and specialist stainless steel nuts to support production, engineering, and project-based requirements.
