Pin Hex Security Grub Screws Cone Point, according to ISO 4027 / DIN 914 with pin, are often referred to as Pin Hex Cone Point Set Screws.
They feature a pinned hexagonal drive recess which can only be fastened using a special Pin Hex wrench or insert bit. This provides medium tamper resistance against vandals and thieves for a cost-effective security solution.
The cone point offers the highest axial and torsional holding power of all set screw types. As the pointed tip penetrates the surface during installation, it will leave marks on the fastening material, therefore they are often used for permanent settings as a result.
These components are suitable for use with both soft and hard surfaces. They are widely utilised as pivots, or as an adjuster to make small and fine alterations.
Cone Point Pin Hex Security Grub Screws are manufactured from 304 / A2 Stainless Steel and 316 / A4 Stainless Steel as standard, with other materials available on request.
Available at Fastenright in thread sizes M1.6 to M20, with lengths up to 120mm. Imperial UNC / UNF threads, typically to ASME B18.3, can also be supplied.
Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and bespoke parts made to drawings. Minimum order quantities apply.
