Pin Hex Security Grub Screws Cone Point, created to DIN 914 standard (ISO 4027) with a pin, are tamper-resistant fixings that require a special driver bit or key to fasten or remove, meaning more conventional driver bits or Allen keys will not work.
The Cone Point is ideal for permanent settings due to its high torsional holding power. They penetrate the surface of the material and are compatible for use on both hard and soft surfaces. Can also be used for pivots or as an adjuster for small and fine alterations.
These tamper-proof set screws are suitable for higher torque applications and the Pin Hex drive makes it ideal for situations that require medium security and where the fixing may need to be removed for maintenance.
They provide a range of advantages, one of which is that they are designed to reduce cam-out, something that often occurs in Phillips and 2-Hole drives. This helps to reduce the risk of damaging the drive tip, screw head, or application, and the hex drive allows for better torque compared to conventional screw heads.
These security grub screws, which provide a medium security resistance for a relatively low cost, can be referred to by a variety of different names that include Hex Pin Grub Screws or Hex Pin Set Screws.
Made from both A2 and A4 Stainless Steel. Available in a range of sizes and thread types, both Metric and Imperial. Pin Hex Security Drill Bit is also available at Fastenright.
Non-standard sizes and materials are available to order as specials, including custom parts made to drawings.
