6 Lobe TX pan head machine screws similar to Din 7985, also know as Torx® screws have a 6 lobular recess and is driven using a mating wrench or insert bit from TX5 to TX55. This makes these screws much more efficient than the slotted screw products and even the hex socket drive screws as it has more resistance to cam out and can be used with power drivers enabling faster use and higher torque to be achieved.
The 6 Lobe Drive was mainly used in the automotive industry due to the reduced cam out and greater torque achievable, this has later been super-seeded by the improved 5-Lobe (TorxPlus®) drive, which restriction of driver bits.
