6 Lobe TX Pan Thread Rolling screws with Ribs are made to DIN 7500 standard and host a six-lobe recess. They have special nibs underneath the head which generate electrical contact by penetrating the coated surface of the fastened components.
The extra grip that these nibs provide also helps to increase vibration resistance by keeping the head locked in place. They are often found in products such as light fixings due to their electrical grounding capabilities.
These screws can be driven using a 6-Lobe insert bit or wrench, making them more efficient than standard hex drive or slotted screws.
They are often called Torx Head Cap Screws or Allen Bolts and have a cylindrical head with a six-lobe socket drive. This has more resistance to cam-out and can be used with power drivers, which enables faster use and allows for higher torque to be achieved.
Thread Rolling screws can be driven into a pre-drilled hole without the need for thread tapping. However an extruded hole may provide extra length and allow for improved retention.
These screws host a three lobe thread design which when inserted into the fastening material, creates it’s own threads, pushing any excess material into the relief areas of the screw. This increases resistance to vibration and reduces the chance of the screw becoming loose.
They are typically designed for use with metals, but can be suitable for use with other malleable materials. Thread Rolling screws also help to avoid loose chips that are often caused by other thread cutting processes.
The pan head provides an aesthetically pleasing, rounded style that complements the fastening material.
