Acorn Dome Nuts with O-Ring Seal

Low Type / High Type Acorn Dome Nuts with O-Ring Seal combine the protection of an acorn nut with the sealing capabilities of an “O” ring washer and typically conform to DIN 1587 / SAE J483A.

The O-ring – positioned within a groove on the underside of the nut – can be supplied in a range of materials based on your requirements e.g. Silicone rubber, Nitrile rubber (Buna-N), Fluorosilicone, EPDM, Viton, and many more.

When fastened, the seal compresses against the mating surface to prevent matter from entering or escaping an application. Metal to metal contact is preserved to ensure 360° sealing protection against contaminants such as air, water, and other elements.

These components are often found in high pressure and contaminant-free environments, as well as applications with strict sealing requirements. They are widely used in the aerospace, food and medical sectors as a result.

Low Type / High Type Acorn Dome Nuts with O-Ring Seal only require a standard spanner, wrench or hex socket for installation and are ready to use out of the box.

They are typically manufactured from Steel, A2 / 304 Stainless Steel and A4 / 316 Stainless Steel as standard. Fine pitch thread and left hand thread variants can also be supplied.
