Phillips Recessed Head Self Clinch Captive Panel Fasteners

Phillips Recessed Head Self Clinch Captive Panel Fasteners feature a recessed head, which once in the fastened position, sits flush with the retainer and is fully concealed for tool-only access.

These spring-loaded components host a smooth head and a Phillips drive recess for use with a standard Phillips screwdriver. They are available in two types:

Type 1:

This type is designed for installation into Stainless Steel sheets with hardness HRB 88 or less on the Rockwell B scale, or HB 183 or less on the Brinell scale.
The screw and retainer are made from 400 Series Stainless Steel with a Passivated finish, while the spring is made from 300 Series Stainless Steel.
Available at Fastenright in thread sizes M3 to M5 with multiple screw lengths. #4 to #10 Unified threads can also be supplied.

Type 2:

This type is designed for use in sheet hardness HRB 70 or less on the Rockwell B scale, or HB 125 or less on the Brinell scale.
The screw is made from 400 Series Stainless Steel, while the retainer and spring are made from 300 Series Stainless Steel.
Both the screw and retainer can be supplied with a Black nitride finish on request.
Available at Fastenright in thread sizes M3 to M6 with multiple screw lengths. #4 to 1/4″ Unified threads can also be supplied.

Phillips Recessed Head Self Clinch Captive Panel Fasteners are available with a Torx drive on request for higher achievable torque and increased cam-out resistance.

Note: The fastener must be harder than the sheet into which it is being installed. Therefore, Stainless Steel panels will require fasteners made from 400 Series Stainless Steel as opposed to 300 Series.
