Threaded Captive Washers for Captive Screws

Threaded Captive Washers are specifically designed for use with Captive Screws, offering an enhanced security solution by enabling the creation of a self-retaining fastener.

Captive fasteners are typically used to secure panels from vandals, thieves and alike. These Captive Washers differ to most standard washers as they feature a shallow internal thread.

The Captive Screw is placed through an unthreaded panel, with the Captive Washer being threaded beyond the threaded portion of the screw – making the screw “captive” to the panel and preventing the washer from falling off.

Note: They are suitable for use with any unthreaded panel, provided that the length of the unthreaded section of the Captive Screw is greater than that of the panel and thickness of the Captive Washer.

Threaded Captive Washers are available in thread sizes M2.5 to M20 – minimum order quantities apply. Fastenright also supply a huge range of Captive Screws in a variety of sizes, lengths and drive types to suit most applications and assemblies.

Manufactured from A4 / 316 Stainless Steel as standard, with other materials available to order including Steel Zinc Plated, A2 / 304 Stainless Steel, Blackened A2 Stainless Steel and Titanium.
