Screw Machining

If you require a more specialised fastener, we at Fastenright can apply minor modifications through machining the head diameters or head height to requirements. We can also machine the shank or thread to reduce their diameters whilst still retaining original head dimensions.

machined-fasteners

We are able to machine products in a wide range of materials, including brass, stainless steel and aluminium.

It has a number of advantages including saving time and reducing labour and this translates to cost-savings for the end-user.

Where can Screw Machined Fasteners be used?

These machined products can be used across a number of industries, including aerospace – where they are critical in the safe operation of aerospace equipment and engines, and can be found in motors, wings and wheels, as well as electrical components.

Machining these products can ensure that they meet the uncompromising industrial demands and tolerances. This is similar within the defence industry too, as the accuracy provided by a machined screw is well suited for the complex nature of parts used within helicopters, tanks and missiles.

In electronics, and especially as the intricacies of tablets, mobile phones, laptops and desktop computers demand higher tolerances, these machined products are incredibly important. This is quite similar to the tolerances needed in medical equipment such as components for respirators and ventilators.

They are also often used in the automotive industry.

What are the benefits of Screw Machining?

It is cheaper to produce machined screws in larger quantities, but with technological strides being continually made, lower volume jobs are now more economical than ever.

Customers can also consider playing an annual contract, which makes allowances for over and under runs and makes sure that costs are as low as possible.

A wide range of materials can be machined, including metals or plastics. These include standard Aluminium, Stainless Steel alloys and Brass, as well as exotics such as Titanium or resins like Delrin.
