Ferralium® 255 – FG46 Screws, Fasteners and Fixings
Ferralium® 225 – FG46 is a fastener grade super duplex stainless steel, optimised for fastener applications. It matches the mechanical characteristics of B7 grade alloy carbon steel, which is most commonly utilised in bolting.
They boast distinguished structural integrity, excellent ductility and impact strength, at both ambient and sub-zero temperatures.
As well as the above, they have an exceptional defence against stress corrosion cracking in chlorides, as well as notable resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chlorides and seawater conditions.
Ferralium is also resistant to the corrosion of a number of corrosive chemicals such as sulphuric acid, phosphoric acid and nitric acid.
Whilst it is more often than not used for bolts and fasteners, you can also find it in marine equipment, valves in a number of industries and in treatment components.
