Tungsten fasteners have a high mass due to the base metal, which allows them to block radiation and show up well on x-rays.
The metal is very corrosion resistant and has a very high melting point of 3420 degrees centigrade – making it the perfect fixing for some of the hottest vacuum furnace environments.
