Vented 6-Lobe Torx Pan Machine Screw

Our vented 6-Lobe Torx Pan Machine Screws, made to DIN 7985 with added vent, have a 6-Lobular recess and are driven using a mating wrench or insert bit. This makes the screws more efficient than the slotted screw products and hex socket drive screws due to the increased resistance to cam out and higher torque and faster use when used with power drivers.

The 6-Lobe drive is known for its use within the automotive industry but has more recently been superceded by the 5-Lobe drive.

The vent in the screw is used to release trapped gas or air that is trapped when the fastener is threaded into a pre-driven hole. Over time, there is potential for the screw to loosen through vibration, which releases the gas and creates a virtual leak.

These machine screws are available at Fastenright in thread sizes M3 to M8, with lengths from 4mm to 50mm.
