Micro Nylon Insert Nuts DIN 985

SKU: MF09 Categories: , ,

Micro Nylon Insert Nuts are created to DIN 985 standard and are also known as Nylon Insert Nuts.

They are similar to Hexagon Full Nuts but have a collar containing a nylon insert which reduces the internal diameter at the collar (or top) of the nut. When a mating stud or screw is inserted into the nut, the nylon deforms over the threads of the stud or screw but this does not cut into the nylon.

Micro Nylon Insert Nuts have two locking actions; creating friction by pressing the bottom face of the threads against the top face and applying substantial force against the screw itself.

They are only advised for use in temperatures of up to 121 degrees.

Manufactured from Steel Grade 8, Steel Grade 10, Steel Grade 12, A2 Stainless Steel, A4 Stainless Steel and Brass as standard. Other materials available on request.

Available now in thread sizes M1.2 to M3 as standard. Nylon Insert Nuts with larger diameters are also available at Fastenright, as well as a range of Flange Nyloc Nuts and Dome Nyloc Nuts.

Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and bespoke parts made to drawings. Minimum order quantities apply.
