Molybdenum Hexagon Head Screws (DIN 933)

Molybdenum Hexagon Head Screws, or Molybdenum Hex Setscrews, host an externally fastened hex head which offers a larger bearing surface. This distributes the fastening load over a greater area for increased clamping force compared to other head types.

Typically in accordance with DIN 933 / ISO 4017, these hexagon set screws are well known for their high thermal conductivity and high strength at elevated temperatures.

With a melting point above 2500°C, Molybdenum offers excellent heat resistance and low thermal expansion which prevents significant changes to its shape or structure. It also has great electrical conductivity and provides good levels of corrosion resistance.

Molybdenum Hex Head Set Screws are widely used in heat resistant devices such as sputtering equipment. They are also found in high temperature vacuum environments, as well as those without the presence of oxygen.

Available at Fastenright in thread sizes M1.6 to M8, with other sizes available to order.

Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and bespoke parts made to drawings. Minimum order quantities apply.
