Pozi Pan Thread Rolling screws are made to DIN 7985 standard (ISO 7045). The ‘Pozi’ or ‘Cross Recess’ drive allows higher torque values and better engagement of the drive, which are designed to be used with Pozi drive bits.
Pozi drives are widely used and host the addition of four additional “wings” onto the cross-shaped design. This provides improved torque and a reduced chance of cam-out, allowing the fastener to be driven easier.
Thread Rolling screws can be driven into a pre-drilled hole without the need for thread tapping. However an extruded hole may provide extra length and allow for improved retention.
It hosts a three lobe thread design which when inserted into the fastening material, creates it’s own threads, pushing any excess material into the relief areas of the screw. This increases resistance to vibration and reduces the chance of the screw becoming loose.
Pozi Pan Thread Rolling screws are typically designed for use with metals, but can be suitable for use with other malleable materials.
Thread Rolling screws also help to avoid loose chips that are caused by other thread cutting processes, while the pan head provides an aesthetically pleasing, rounded style that complements the fastening material.
Available in A2 Stainless Steel, Steel Zinc Plated and Steel Black Plated as standard from Fastenright. Both Metric and Imperial sizes available.
Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and custom parts made to drawings.
