Security Wave Captive Screws

Security Wave Captive Screws are a tamper proof screw, ideal for the highest security applications. They are the perfect match with security wave nuts, and are also suitable for use with shear nuts, Kinmar reusable nuts, Kinmar permanent nuts and 4-hole nuts or Pin Torx Barrel Nuts in order to provide additional security.

These tamper proof screws can be either supplied with either a two way reusable or one way permanent security drive. The unique rounded design incorporates varying angles and radiuses to resist against grips such as pliers – making it ideal for applications where the highest level of security is essential.

Captive screws are designed with an unthreaded portion below the head – often referred to as the reduced shank. Once installed alongside Threaded Captive Washers, the screw is designed self retain – it cannot be fully removed from its housing which prevents any loss of fasteners.

Security Wave Captive screws require a special driver tool which is able to be stamped and registered with a customer-specific reference number – allowing the tool to be tracked and personnel that have used it traced if they are registered against the tool. Distribution of the tool is restricted, meaning that only manufacturers and installers who have purchased the screws can purchase additional tools. Under no circumstances will the tools be sold to ‘non-account’ customers.

Manufactured from A1 / 303 Stainless Steel and A4 / 316 Stainless Steel. Available at Fastenright in thread sizes from M2 to M48 as standard. UNC, UNF, BSW and BSF threads can also be supplied.

Our full range of security and non-security Captive Screws can be found here.
