Security 5 Lobe Pin TX Countersunk Head Captive Screws are more secure variant of the more common 6 Lobe TX Security Captive Screws – featuring a 5 lobe drive that is similar in shape to a flower petal.
Captive screws feature an unthreaded portion below the head – often referred to as the reduced shank. Once installed, this screw is meant to self retain, which prevents any loss of fasteners.
This design combined with the security pin in the drive recess means that these screws are only removable using matching drive bits – the sale of these bits is restricted for security purposes.
- Tamper resistant 2-way re-usable security screw.
- Requires special insert bit that is registered and restricted for controlled availability.
- Usable for higher-torque applications.
- TORX Plus® Security screw has a unique 5-Lobe Torx head.
