Security Pin Hex Button Head Captive Screws combine the unique design of a captive screw with the additional security of a tamper-proof Pin Hex drive.
Designed with an unthreaded portion, or reduced shank, below the head of the screw, they are intended for use alongside Threaded Captive Washers. Once installed, these components cannot be fully removed from their housing. This creates a self-retaining fastener that helps to prevent loss or damage within an assembly.
Requiring a special Pin Hex wrench or insert bit for installation and removal, Security Pin Hex Button Head Captive Screws offer medium security resistance at a relatively low cost.
They are suitable for use in higher torque applications and are widely used for safety guards and panels – designed to conform to the EU Machine Safety Directive 2006.
Manufactured from A2 / 304 Stainless Steel and A4 / 316 Stainless Steel as standard. Other materials are available on request such as Aluminium and Titanium.
Available at Fastenright in thread sizes M2 to M16, with lengths from 8mm to 120mm. UNC and UNF threads are also available. Optional thread locking patches can also be supplied to increase vibration resistance.
Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and bespoke parts made to drawings. Minimum order quantities apply.
