Slotted Captive Thumb Screws are a specialised variant of DIN 465 thumb screws with a slotted drive to allow the use of a slotted screwdriver. They also host a knurled head which improves the screws usability by hand.
They feature an unthreaded portion below the head, which is often referred to as a reduced thread.
Captive fasteners provide a secure joining which helps to avoid the loss or damage of a fastener within an assembly by stopping the full removal of the screw.
Often found in fastening sheet metal or captive panels for safety reasons, the screws are designed to be compliant with the EU machine safety directive.
Available as standard in A1 stainless steel, with optional thread locking patches available.
Specials are available to order, with changes in material, size and finish all available.
