Star Dowels are metal dowels, also known as Brudaw Dowels, Zamak Dowels or Arrow Head Dowels, and are a star headed cross shank dowel generally used in the joinery and fencing industries. They are hammered into woodwork to secure tenon joints (see below) and offer a more secure and efficient solution than wooden dowels.

The arrow feature means that star dowels can be hammered straight into wood without requiring pre drilled holes. They are also used on window frames.

Star dowels are manufactured in Zamak and available from Fastenright in a range of lengths from 19mm (3/4″) to 77mm (3″), with custom sizes to order and stock holding / call off facility available for regular requirements.

Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and bespoke parts made to drawings. Minimum order quantities apply.
