Stainless Steel 4 Pronged T Nuts

Stainless steel 4 pronged T nuts, also referred to as stainless steel T nuts, grip nuts, claw nuts or four pronged nuts for wood, offer superior corrosion resistance compared to carbon steel alternatives and are commonly specified for outdoor or coastal environments.

These stainless steel T nuts consist of an internally threaded barrel with a flat base, forming a T-shaped profile. The base incorporates four evenly spaced prongs that grip into both hard and soft wood, as well as plastic, acting as an anchor to lock the nut in place and prevent rotation during assembly.

Installation is carried out by inserting the T nut into a pre-drilled hole and tapping it into position using a hammer, T-nut gun or full installation system, leaving a flush finish once seated. This makes stainless steel T nuts suitable for applications such as outdoor furniture and play equipment, where corrosion resistance and secure fixing are required.

Standard thread sizes range from M3 to M12, with additional sizes available to order. Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small-volume manufacture, modifications and bespoke parts made to drawings, subject to minimum order quantities.
