6 Lobe Pin TX Pan Thread Rolling Screws (DIN 7985 with Pin)

6 Lobe Pin TX Pan Thread Rolling screws are made to DIN 7985 standard (ISO 14583) and host a 6-point star-shaped screw head, with a centre pin. This resists standard torx bits meaning that a special insert bit or key wrench is required for insertion and removal.

They are also referred to as Star Pin Drive screws, Tamper Torx ®, Torx® Pin and Resistorx®. The screw hosts a range of advantages, including reduced slippage compared to Philips and 2-Hole Drives – which reduces the risk of damage to drive tip, screw head or application. This makes it cost effective to install and remove.

The pan head provides an aesthetically pleasing, rounded style that complements the fastening material.

Thread Rolling screws host a three lobe thread design which when inserted into the fastening material, creates it’s own threads, pushing any excess material into the relief areas of the screw. This increases resistance to vibration and reduces the chance of the screw becoming loose.

They are typically designed for use with metals, but can be suitable for use with other malleable materials. Thread Rolling screws can be driven into a pre-drilled hole without the need for thread tapping. However an extruded hole may provide extra length and allow for improved retention.

These screws also help to avoid loose chips that are caused by other thread cutting processes.

6 Lobe Pin TX Pan Thread Rolling screws are manufactured from A2 Stainless Steel, Steel Zinc Plated and Steel Black Plated as standard.

Available from Fastenright in thread sizes M2 to M8 and lengths ranging from 3mm to 50mm.
