Architectural sex bolts are commonly used in applications to attach door hardware (kick plates, panic bars, door closers, hinges) to doors, architectural sex bolts, provide security, strength and ease of assembly.
The female section has a smooth truss head with no drive while the barrel has a knurled portion under the head preventing it from spinning while the Phillips countersunk head screw is tightened from the other side. This feature ensures that the bolt is secure from the visible / decorative aspect and cannot be removed.
- Male screw fastens into internally threaded female barrel nut (sex bolt)
- Knurled portion keeps barrel nut from turning whilst fastening
- Matched finish on both components to ensure aesthetic finish
Standard finishes include Aluminium, A4-316 Stainless Steel, A2 18-8 Stainless steel, Steel with Zinc, Chrome or Brass plating or in Brass with plain finish, chrome finish and dark bronze finish.
