Double End Studs, conforming to DIN 938 standard, feature two external threads with an unthreaded section in between – where the shorter thread or stud end is equal to 1 x d.
The nominal length of these Double End Studs is determined by the length of the long thread combined with the length of the unthreaded section. The short thread (b1) has a fixed length and is typically installed into a tapped machine hole, while the length of the long thread (b2) will vary depending on the length of the stud.
Both threads are designed for engagement with an internally threaded fastener, such as a nut. Otherwise known as Engineers Studs, Engineering Studs, Threaded Stud Bolts, Double Ended Threaded Bar or Tap End Studs, they are ideal for numerous applications that require a double threaded component.
DIN 938 Double End Studs are manufactured from Steel, A2 / 304 Stainless Steel and A4 / 316 Stainless Steel as standard, with non-standard materials and finishes available to order.
Available now in thread sizes M3 to M52 as standard, with lengths ranging from 16mm to 400mm. Optional thread locking patches are available on request.
Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and bespoke parts made to drawings. Minimum order quantities apply.
