Hex Flange Thread Rolling Screws, to DIN 7500 standard, host a hexagonal shaped head that can be fastened using a variety of standard tools such as spanners, ratchets and wrenches.
Thread rolling screws host a three-lobe or trilobular thread shape that is designed to form internal threads within the material during installation. Excess material is forced into relief areas of the screw which increases retention and vibration resistance.
These components can be driven into a pilot hole without the need for thread tapping, however an extruded hole may provide extra length and further increase retention.
Hex Flange Thread Rolling Screws are intended for use with sheet metals, but can be used with other malleable materials. They also help to avoid loose chips that are typically caused by other thread cutting processes.
Manufactured from A2 Stainless Steel and Steel Zinc Plated as standard, with Steel Black Plated also available on request.
Available at Fastenright in thread sizes M3 to M10 as standard, with lengths up to 60mm. Imperial UNC / UNF threads can also be supplied.
Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and bespoke parts made to drawings. Minimum order quantities apply.
