Slotted Insert Nut for Soft Wood and Soft Plastics (IN10)

Slotted Insert Nuts (IN10) have a standardised internal thread from M4 to M10 and an unthreaded lead. Ideal for use in soft woods such as pine, larch or red cedar, they can also be used for laminate boards such as plywood, or in composite materials such as chipboard, as well as certain kinds of soft plastics.

The slot drive means that these insert nuts can be installed manually or using a semi or fully automated process.

They are manufactured in Steel (Self Colour or Zinc Plated) and Stainless Steel. With this kind of fastening only one size of pre-bored pilot hole measuring between 5.5mm to 12.5mm needs to be made, so decreasing production time and costs.

Slotted Insert Nut for Soft Wood and Plastics are available in diameters from 6.5mm to 14mm and in lengths from 8mm to 18mm, to suit many different applications – see our availability chart below for full specifications.

Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and custom parts made to drawings.
