Taper Washer – D Washers

D Washers, otherwise referred to as Taper Washers, get their name through the ‘D’ shape created by the washer having a flat edge on their inner diameter, outer diameter, or a combination of the two.

They provide a flat bearing surface and are placed underneath the head of a bolt and or nut, to disperse loads as well as prevent turning during the application.

D Washers can be found in industries spanning across automotive, marine, medical and more and are generally used where space limitations would dispell the use of a flat, round washer.

Available in a wide range of materials and finishes, and sizes M8 to M24 as standard, with specials made to order.
