Aerotightยฎ Vibration Resistant All Metal Self Locking Nuts

Aerotight Lock Nuts have a long-standing reputation for design, quality and reliability.

Commonly, they are known as Aero Locknuts or Stiff Nuts and they are vibration resistant self-locking nuts and host distinct advantages over other forms of self-locking nuts.

For example; the self-locking function of the vibration-resistant Aerotight Nut is still effective after a number of uses within the application, it is all metal and hosts no inserts meaning it can be used in elevated temperatures and it is not affected by oil, and the ease of installation or removal with no additional parts or special tools needed.

Regardless of whether it has been tightened or not, these locknuts will stay in position, provided that the locking element of the nut is engaged.

It is recommended that in an application the bolt thread should protrude through the nut by two full threads to achieve full engagement of the locking element. These locknuts should not be used on damaged threads.

Available as standard in Steel and Stainless Steel, the latter of which is able to be used in highly corrosive environments. The locknuts may find themselves in coastal and industrial areas where corrosion may be an issue, and within the chemical, photographic and food processing industries.

Available as standard in A1 and A4 Stainless Steel, non-leaded Steel and Brass. Aerotight Lock Nuts can be customised to a customer’s specification, with variations on thread pitch, diameters, materials, finishes, and heights – all of which are dependent on minimum order quantities.
