Knurled Captive Thumb Screws are a variant of the thumb screw made to DIN 464, but designed with a reduced thread – or unthreaded portion – below the head.
Intended to be easily removed and reinstalled when necessary, the addition of the large knurled head simplifies the process as they can be easily operated by hand.
Often used for fastening captive panels on industrial machines, which must be fixed for safety reasons – these fasteners are required by EU law on a number of pieces of machinery.
Available from Fastenright as standard in A1 Stainless Steel, with optional thread locking patches available.
Sizes available from M3 to M10 and lengths ranging from 4mm to 30mm.
Non-standard sizes and materials are available to order, including custom parts made to drawings.
d1 and L1 dimensions can be to customer specification.
