Low Cap Head Reduced Thread Captive Screws

Low Cap Head Captive Screws are similar to standard Socket Cap Captive Screws but offer a shallow head height – ideal for applications with space restrictions or limited clearance.

These components feature an unthreaded portion below the head of the screw, and can only be partially removed once fastened. They are often partnered with Threaded Captive Washers to create a self-retaining fastener.

Often found in industrial machinery and military applications, captive screws are required by EU directives on several pieces of machinery and safety equipment.

Cap Head Reduced Shank Captive Screws are manufactured from A2 / 304 Stainless Steel and A4 / 316 Stainless Steel as standard, with other specialised materials available to order including Aluminium and Titanium.

Available at Fastenright in thread sizes M3 to M12 as standard, with lengths up to 120mm. Thread locking patches are also available to provide additional vibration resistance.

Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and bespoke parts made to drawings. Minimum order quantities apply.
