TX countersunk captive screws combine a hexalobular Torx drive with an unthreaded portion, otherwise known as a reduced thread.
They are required in machinery under the EU safety directive.
TX countersunk captive screws are ideal for high precision applications due to the high precision manufacturing procedure required to make them.
Captive screws are usually found in industrial machinery, as a lost or loose screw could cause catastrophic failure to the machine – with the captive screws inability to be fully removed from a hole after installation is exactly why these screws are used.
Available as standard in A2 Stainless Steel from Fastenright, with thread locking patches available as an optional addition.
Thread diameters from M1.6 to M8 and lengths ranging from 8mm to 60mm.
Non-standard sizes and materials are available to order, including custom parts made to drawings.
d1 and L1 dimensions can be to customer specification.
