Micro Slotted Set Screws with a cone point are created to DIN standard 553 and feature a single slot in their head for use when being installed with a standard flat blade screwdriver.
A power driver is advised to not be used with a slotted drive as the driver can slip out and cause damage to the surface it is being applied to.
Set screws are used in applications to secure objects together, within or against another object. These screws are ‘headless’, so there is no head projecting past the major diameter, making this a fully threaded fastener.
The slotted drive of this set screw is turned until it meets the inner object, before exerting pressure on the inner object and creating a clamping force.
They are also referred to as slotted grubscrews.
Available as standard in steel, as well as A2 and A4 stainless steel and other materials are available to order.
Sizes range from M1.6 to M3, with larger diameters also available in various materials.
