This pan head, self drilling security screw with a five-sided pentagon recess which stops the use of anything but a specifically designed bit for installation and removal.
The pan head offers a raised finish as their heads are flat on top and rounded on the sides. Mainly used in metal work, the pan heads cannot sit flush in materials – but are suitable for applications that require a higher torque.
The need for a specifically designed bit makes the screw vandal resistant and the self-drilling nature of the screw provides faster installation compared to the likes of self-tapping screws.
