Security 2-Hole Pan Head Captive Screws

Security 2-Hole Pan Head Captive Screws are a unique form of captive screw designed with two holes in the head – installed and removed using a special 2 Hole insert bit.

The 2-Hole security drive – also known as a Snake Eye, Pig Nose, Two Pin or Spanner drive – is suitable for low to medium torque applications and offers a good balance of security and aesthetics. However It is more prone to cam-out than other security captive screws, such as those with a Pin Hex or Pin Torx drive.

Note: The two holes in the head can be drilled at different distances (between centres), therefore it is advisable to always purchase the screws along with corresponding bits. We also recommend the purchase of additional drive bits as they are prone to bending or breaking after prolonged use.

These captive screws feature with an unthreaded portion below the head – often referred to as the reduced shank. They are intended for use with Threaded Captive Washers and cannot be fully removed once installed.

Manufactured from A2 / 304 Stainless Steel and A4 / 316 Stainless Steel as standard. Specialised and exotic materials are also available to order including Aluminium and Titanium.

Available at Fastenright in thread sizes M3 to M6, with lengths from 12mm to 60mm. Optional thread locking patches can also be supplied on request.

Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and bespoke parts made to drawings. Minimum order quantities apply.
