2-Hole Pan Head Security Barrel Nuts & Sex Bolts

Architectural sex bolts. 2 hole pan head for security and protection against vandals and thieves.

2-Hole Pan Head Security Barrel Nuts (or Sex Bolts) are a re-usable two-way drive that are suitable for lower torque applications. They are a tamper-resistant adaptation of the commonly known sex bolt, also known as a Barrel Nut, Barrel Bolt, Male Female Bolt, Chicago Screw, Architectural Bolts or Post and Screw.

They are ideal for use within architectural stair casing and balustrading.

The female part of the sex bolt host a barrel-shaped flange and protruding boss that is internally threaded – which the male part fastens into. The boss sits within the component being fastened, and the flange provides the bearing surface.

Male screws are available with or without shoulders, and both of the male and female bolts feature the 2-Hole Security Drive, requiring a special tool or bit to fasten or remove.

The parts, including their head dimensions, are matched for a finished appearance. Truss and Countersunk heads are also available.

Pan Head Security Barrel Nuts and the accompanying security machine screw are often chosen because of their low profile compared to other fixings, such as button head styles.

Manufactured as standard in Steel, A2 Stainless Steel and A4 Stainless Steel. Other security drives are available including Pin TX, Pin Hex, Clutch Head and Wave.

Non-standard sizes and materials are available to order as specials, including custom parts made to drawings.
