Captive Reduced Thread Hexagon Bolt are often used to secure panels – they can only be partially removed, designed to remain in the panel when loosened.
They host an unthreaded portion below the head, often referred to as a reduced thread, helping to prevent any loss of fasteners. Often required by EU Law in certain pieces of safety-critical equipment such as safety guards, conforming to the EU Machine Safety Directive 2006.
