Captive Hexagon Bolts are often used to secure panels and often remain in the panel when loosened.
Designed with an unthreaded portion below the head, often referred to as a reduced thread, these fasteners are required by EU Law in certain pieces of EU Law. In items such as safety guards, they must be applied to comply with the EU Machine Safety Directive 2006.
They are only able to be partially removed.
Captive Hexagon Bolts are seen regularly in industrial machinery and military applications which must be undertaken quickly and efficiently.
Available as standard in A2 and A4 stainless steels, with other materials and finishes available. Thread locking patches can be installed onto Captive Hexagon Bolts.
