Unheaded Brass Inserts With High Torque Resistance
These unheaded press-in brass inserts are designed primarily for use in hard thermoset plastics and can also be suitable for insertion in thermosetting polyesters. They provide reusable, strong and permanent free-running thread forms and can be installed using either a cold or heated press-in process. The helical knurling of these brass inserts has sharp edges which dig into the plastic during the insertion process. The three bands of knurling encourage the displaced plastic to fill in the bands so providing this insert with a high resistance to direct torque and an adequate pull-out resilience in these kinds of plastics. Available in a variety of lengths and diameters.
These press-in brass inserts are available in five different lengths and seven distinct diameters, and with the length of stud desired. They are designed to be inserted into hard thermoset plastics to provide a reusable permanent thread with standardised internal thread measurements from M2 to M10. Installation can be performed by a manual press-in process which can employ heat or be executed cold. The three bands present sharp-edged knurling which cut into the plastic and guide the displaced material into the grooves. This gives these knurled brass inserts without heads a high torque resistance in these kinds of plastics and an adequate reliance against pull-out. The high quality of the brass gives this insert excellent electrical conductivity, high tensile strength, and superb resistance to corrosion.
