Security E6 Drive Captive Screws

Security E6 Drive Captive Screws host a unique, external non-slip drive with six slots and a domed head.

Captive screws feature an unthreaded portion, or reduced shank, below the head. Once installed alongside Threaded Captive Washers, they are retained or held “captive” within the target housing. This increases safety and prevents any loss of fasteners.

These tamper-proof security captive screws require a special E6 Drive Insert Bit for installation and are designed to resist cam-out – reducing the risk of damage and enabling higher torque to be achieved.

Security E6 Drive Captive Screws are designed to conform to the EU Machine Safety Directive 2006 – typically used for safety guards and captive panels.

Manufactured from A2 / 304 Stainless Steel as standard.

Available at Fastenright in thread sizes M2 to M8 as standard, with lengths from 8mm to 60mm. Optional thread locking patches can also be supplied for increased vibration resistance.
