What are brass screws?

Brass screws are manufactured from an alloy of copper and zinc, providing corrosion-resistant and non-magnetic properties alongside a distinctive pale tan or gold-like finish.

They are suitable for both internal and external applications, including environments where corrosion resistance, electrical conductivity or appearance are important.

Brass screws are widely used across manufacturing, construction, electrical, furniture and decorative applications.

Why choose brass screws?

Brass screws are often selected where the appearance of a visible fixing is important. Their distinctive finish makes them suitable for doors, mirrors, joinery, architectural hardware and period-style applications.

As brass is a relatively soft material, screws should be installed into a pre-drilled or tapped hole to help prevent bending or stripping under high torque loads.

What grades of brass are available?

Brass Cu2 (CuZn37 / CZ108) – Provides good strength, corrosion resistance and excellent cold workability.

Brass Cu3 (CuZn39Pb3 / CZ122) – Offers enhanced machinability alongside increased strength and corrosion resistance.

The appropriate grade can be selected according to the manufacturing and application requirements.
