What are security screws?

Security screws provide a secure fastening solution for applications where standard screws could be easily removed. They feature unique drive designs that require a matching tool, making unauthorised removal difficult or impossible.

These fasteners are available in two main types:

• Reusable security screws – Removable using the corresponding security tool.
• Permanent one-way screws – Designed for single-use installation where removal is not required.

What types of security screws are available?

We supply a wide range of security screws in both machine-thread and self-tapping options:

• Machine-thread security screws are used with pre-tapped holes or paired with a security nut for a secure joint.
• Self-tapping security screws form their own threads in softer materials such as aluminium, plastics, or wood, providing strong, tamper-resistant fixings.

What sizes are available?

Our security screws are stocked in the most common metric sizes, including M4, M5, and M6 security screws. Sizes from M2 to M16 are in stock, with larger diameters available on request. Imperial threads can also be supplied where required.
